Who We Are:

The Coachella Valley Coalition for Responsible Sovereignty (CVCRS) is a diverse and growing group of local residents, business owners and community representatives who are deeply concerned about the future of our community. The beautiful Coachella Valley is home to eight tribes. CVCRS supports Tribal Nation status, tribal sovereignty and tribal economic development.

The future of California and its communities rests on the responsiveness of the state, local governments and Tribal Nations to each other’s needs. As community partners, we believe that the impacts and costs of tribal casinos on local communities should be the responsibility of the gaming operations, not local governments and their taxpayer residents.

We formed CVCRS and this website to better understand this growing and dynamic industry and its impacts on the future of our communities.
